Our Mission
We are a group of people who gather together to learn about and worship the Lord Jesus Christ. We go out to share and serve by the power of the Holy Spirit to reach others for Christ, to the glory of God the Father.
Our Vision
- To learn the Bible in both understanding and application.
- To grow in the truth and grace of Jesus Christ in every area of our lives.
- Share the Good News of Jesus with everyone and bring people to Christ.
- To encourage the worldwide Body of Christ through missionary partnerships.
- To work and follow Jesus together as His team to reach Calvin, Rutherglen, Bonfield, Mattawa, Papineau-Cameron, the North Bay area, and beyond.
- Each of us is helping someone and someone is helping us to be a reproducing follower of Jesus.

OUR PAST
Our church held its first service on Thanksgiving Sunday 1955. At the time the church was an answer to prayer for many of the Evangelical Christians in and around Calvin Township. A number of families that supported and help build the church moved to the community from Stouffville Ontario to help establish the work. Eau Claire Missionary Church has been the only church in Calvin Township for many years.
OUR FUTURE
The statement over the doors on the way into the church reminds us that when we gather in Jesus name, He is amongst us. It reads,
“For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them.” (Matthew 18:20)
As we exit the church doors we are reminded that we are now stepping into our mission field by the words,
“Love one another. Be a disciple of Jesus. Make disciples of Jesus.”
These words help remind us that our lives and the life of the church are not about only ourselves, nor are we meant to be just a social club.
We want to become more of a family who reflect our heavenly Father together. God’s word puts it this way in 1 John 3:18:
“My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.”
Our gatherings are centred around all believers becoming participants together in God’s story and helping share His love practically to the world. We believe strongly that each believer is commanded and capable to help lead others into an active and flourishing relationship with Jesus.
The church is a body that God designed in order to share His life with the world by the power of the Holy Spirit. As members of one body we gather together to be strengthened, encouraged and equipped to go and show and share the love of Jesus to the people around us.
Our goal is to be a community of believers on mission to the world.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Eau Claire EMC is an active family member of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada.
We adhere to the EMCC Articles of Faith and as a church we aim to follow the beliefs, values, and ethos of the EMCC.
